Fakenham racecourse

This site is a tribute to Horse Racing at FAKENHAM Racecourse, a thoroughbred horse racing venue which is wonderfully situated in the picturesque countryside of North Norfolk just 9 miles from the coast at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea.

It is a friendly National Hunt Racecourse that has been in existence since 1905. Its racing season runs between October and May and race meetings are enjoyed by crowds from all over the country.

The racecourse celebrated its Centenery Year in 2005.

Fakenham - The Town
Fakenham is an historic and attractive Norfolk market town half way between Norwich and Kings Lynn and often said to be the 'Gateway to the North Norfolk coast'.

Fakenham is full of pretty brick-and-flint faced buildings, narrow alleyways and sidestreets. The town centre has in recent years undergone a "face-lift", with new paving, street signs and a seating area in the market square which features an interesting floor-display which represents the town's historic association with the printing trade.
Thomas Miller, who set up the printing press was born in Fakenham.
